What Wingman keeps, and why.
Wingman is an independent app made by Haashim Malik. This page explains, in plain language, what data the app collects, what it's used for, where it lives, and how you delete it. It collects the minimum needed to work, and nothing is sold or used for advertising.
1. What we collect
Your account
Wingman uses Sign in with Apple. Apple gives us a unique account identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address. Apple lets you hide your real email behind a relay address. We use the identifier to keep your data together across devices and the name to greet you in the app. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google).
Your Apex Legends account
To track your progress you link an Apex Legends in-game name and platform. We never ask for your EA or platform password. We look up the public statistics for that name, such as level, rank, rank points and current status, from the Apex Legends Status API (apexlegendsstatus.com), and store the player identifier and profile on our server. Only link an account you own or have permission to track.
Match history (Pro)
If you have Wingman Pro, our server checks your public rank points periodically and records detected RP changes, with rank and legend details where available. Some records can combine games; games with no RP change are not recorded. Background checks require an available tracking place. If you are queued, keep History open while you play for foreground checks. Match records are kept for 90 days, then deleted automatically. Background checking pauses after 30 days without game activity; opening the app rejoins tracking, subject to available places.
Purchases
Wingman 1.4 offers Pro as a subscription made through Apple. Earlier one-time purchases remain valid, and older app versions may still offer that purchase during the transition. Apple handles payment; we never see your card details. RevenueCat validates the purchase and stores its status against your account identifier. Our server records whether Pro is active, whether it is a subscription or a one-time purchase, and the confirmed end of subscription access, including any billing grace period. It re-checks that status with RevenueCat periodically to keep access current. If you delete your account, those records are deleted too.
Preferences
Your rank goal, pack count and map-alert choice are stored on your device and, for the goal and pack count, synced to your account so they follow you to a new phone.
Map alerts
If you turn on map-change alerts, your device subscribes to a notification topic with Firebase Cloud Messaging, for example "every Ranked change" or "when Pubs switches to Storm Point". Topics are not tied to your identity and we don't store device tokens on our server. Turn alerts off in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings at any time.
Analytics and diagnostics
We use PostHog, hosted in the EU, to understand how the app is used: which screens are opened, whether onboarding is completed, whether a purchase succeeded, and whether requests to our server fail. Events are attached to your account identifier only, never to your name, email or Apex name, and are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. The app may also send crash reports, containing device model, OS version and the state of the app at the time, so we can fix bugs.
2. Where your data is stored
- Cloudflare runs our server and database, which hold your account identifier, linked Apex profile, match history, preferences and Pro status.
- Google Firebase handles sign-in and push notifications.
- RevenueCat handles purchase validation.
- PostHog (EU) handles analytics.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security commitments. We don't sell data, and we don't share it with anyone else except where the law requires it.
3. How long we keep it
Account data is kept until you delete your account or the Wingman service closes. Match history is kept for 90 days. Analytics events are kept for up to a year. Cached map and rank data on our server is refreshed continuously and holds nothing about you.
If Wingman closes, we'll explain the account-data deletion date in the closure notice and how to request a copy of the personal data we still hold before that date. Normal retention limits continue during the notice period. We'll delete account data as part of closure and retain only limited records necessary to meet legal obligations or resolve claims, for as long as those purposes require. See the service closure terms.
4. Deleting your data
Open the app, go to Settings → Delete Account, and confirm with Apple. This removes your account, linked player, match history and preferences from our server, deletes your record at RevenueCat, revokes the Sign in with Apple session and deletes the Firebase account, all at once. Your purchase remains with Apple and can be restored if you create a new account later while the Wingman service operates. Deleting the app alone does not delete your account.
Deleting your Wingman account does not cancel an Apple subscription. To stop future charges, cancel it in Apple's subscription settings. You can still delete your account immediately.
You can also email wingmantracker@gmail.com to ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete and restrict the use of your personal data, and to complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
5. Children's privacy
If you are a parent or guardian with a question about your child's personal information, contact us at wingmantracker@gmail.com. You can ask us to review, correct or delete your child's personal information.
6. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and note it in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
